Technology and the EnvironmentHow sound energy and environmental Mr. Rubenstein is the Chairman of CEEP, which he conceived of and helped found. CEEP is a not-for-profit corporation that sponsors programs promoting development of an effective and competitive energy and environmental industry. He is also Secretary of the Washington, DC focused Environmental Industry Coalition of the United States. Mr. Rubenstein is Executive Director of the EBA/NYS, the trade association that represents the energy and environmental industry in New York State. The EBA/NYS represents nearly 150 energy and environmental companies and organizations. For the EBA/NYS, Mr. Rubenstein is a member of and chairs the Emerging Industries Alliance of New York State, Inc., a coalition of New York State trade associations focused on assisting emerging, high technology companies in the aerospace/defense, biotechnology, energy/environmental, nanotechnology, new media, photonics, and software industries. The Alliance is politically active in pursuit of these objectives. Ira S. Rubenstein is Chairman and a founder of Homeland Energy Resources Development, Inc., a developer of renewable energy facilities and resources and a provider of advisory and consulting services to a broad range of clientele. He previously worked at Grumman Corporation, Ocean Data Systems, Inc., and Data Management Associates of New York, Inc., and for New York State's Office of Mental Health, Higher Education Services Corporation, and the State Legislature. Mr. Rubenstein holds an AAS in Liberal Arts degree from Excelsior College. He lives in Albany and in Manhattan, where he is Vice Chairman of the Board of City Limits Community Information Services, Inc., the not-for-profit home of City Limits magazine, an urban affairs monthly, and the Center for an Urban Future, an urban think tank.
