HVTC Sponsors Second Seminar in Series on Intellectual Property Law
December 14th at New World Home Cooking
Hudson Valley Technology and Commerce (HVTC) will sponsor a second seminar
in a series of 3 by White Plains Intellectual Property Law firm of Lilling
and Lilling, PC.
The first seminar was
held in September and was on "Ownership of Intellectual Property".
It covered ownership of patents, trademarks and copyrights and issues
such as "work for hire", independent contractors, and who owns
software, advertising and other materials created by a non-employee.
December 14th's program will be on protection of trademark, names and
domain names.
Lilling & Lilling P.C., an intellectual property
law firm and member of Hudson Valley Technology and Commerce, will be
offering the the second of the three free seminars on the subject of "Trademarks
101". Included in the seminar will be discussions on what
is a trademark, searching before adopting a trademark, the importance
of registration, the consequences of failing to search and/or register
a trademark and proper use of a trademark. These are issues of importance
to companies which seek to understand the significance and value of the
intellectual property they own and how to protect it.
